Dr Ted Tyne leads the Mineral Resources Group in DMITRE and is responsible for overseeing the assessment, approvals and regulation of mineral exploration, the State’s existing mines and the many new mining developments progressing through feasibility and approvals.

He has more than 35 years government and industry experience across Australia and around the world in geoscience mapping, airborne and ground geophysics and in leading government geoscience programs.
Prior to joining DMITRE (formally PIRSA), Ted was the Director of the Geological Survey of New South Wales and his extensive experience and achievements in leading the 'Exploration NSW' investment initiative are being brought to bear in supporting South Australia's new PACE 2020 initiative comprising PACE Exploration, PACE Mining and PACE Global.

Ted holds a Bachelor of Science, Post Graduate Diploma in Geophysics and a PhD (University of NSW) for his research on mineral exploration drillhole geophysics.
